Event Description

Jointly co-organized: HBS Association of HK and the Harvard Club of HK

Come join us on this community engagement and family event at The Mills featuring a private tour and brunch with fellow HCHK and HBSAHK members and guests.

The Mills is a landmark industrial building revitalization project by Nan Fung Group, a celebration of shared industrial legacy with Hong Kong, and a step towards a future of applied creativity and innovation. Formerly known as Nan Fung Textiles, it was once one of Hong Kong’s most productive spinning factories and witnessed the city’s manufacturing heyday in the 1960s.

The Mills is now a unique home to tourists, artists and makers who have inherited the city’s fighting spirit and is built on a foundation of legacy and heritage. You can explore the continuity of an authentic Hong Kong story, where themes of textile and industry are woven into experiences of innovation, culture, and learning.

The Mills is composed of 3 pillars, each contributing a unique perspective and experience.

For techstyle entrepreneurs, there is Fabrica.

A business incubator, fund and space/lab for techstyle startups and strategic partners

For local artisanal F&B and experiential shopping, there is Shopfloor

A landmark for experiential retail, an expression of Hong Kong's evolving character

For history and art, there is Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile (CHAT)

A non-profit arts centre interweaving textile arts, history and science

Visitors will experience the reinvention of former Nan Fung cotton-spinning factories into The Mills; the transformation of Tsuen Wan’s textile past into a Techstyle future.
