hchk member privilege: aia hong kong 20th anniversary - symposium on architectural education and practice

Saturday, June 24th 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 6:30 pm

The Hong Kong Chapter of the American Institute of Architects was established in 1997 to serve the professional interests of the growing number of AIA members practicing in Hong Kong and the surrounding region.  As we celebrate our 20th anniversary this year, we continue on our mission to uphold a high standard of design, education and professional practice among our members as well as to promote the importance of architecture in society.

The highlight of this year's celebration events will be the organization of an international symposium in the afternoon of June 24 at Asia Society Hong Kong Center titled "Practicing Education | Educating Practice".  The event will feature eight prominent practicing architects from the United States, Canada, Mainland China and Hong Kong who also serve as the Dean or Head of major design institutions.  They include: Laura Briggs, Nelson Chen, Preston Scott Cohen, Brian McGrath, Nasrine Seraji, Richard Sommer, Nader Tehrani and Li Zhang.  Asia Society and RISD are our program partners to bring this creativity, education and professional development event of the year to Hong Kong.
